Overview

We are seeking a skilled Vertical Lathe Machinist with experience operating manual vertical lathes, horizontal machining experience, and strong general mechanical ability. This is a manual machining position; CNC experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate manual vertical lathes to machine parts to drawing specifications.
- Perform horizontal machining operations as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and workholding methods.
- Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Apply mechanical skills to assist with fitting, assembly, troubleshooting, and equipment upkeep.
- Follow safe lifting, rigging, and material-handling practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications
- 10-15 years practical experience setting up and operating manual vertical lathes.




- Experience with horizontal lathes and/or horizontal boring mills.
- Solid general mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately from drawings and verify finished dimensions.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with other shop personnel.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and reliable attendance.
- CNC machining experience is a plus, but is not required.
- Machinist trade certification or equivalent experience is an asset.

Pay: $21.75-$32.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
