Do you love animals, enjoy working with people, and thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment? Tuxedo Animal Hospital is looking for a motivated, compassionate, and reliable Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our amazing team!

We are a well-established veterinary hospital with an experienced team of veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) who are passionate about providing exceptional care to our patients and clients. We’re looking for someone who enjoys both the hands-on medical side of veterinary care and the client service side of the hospital.

What You’ll Do

Veterinary Assistant Duties

- Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures using proper, safe animal restraint techniques.
- Assist RVTs with appropriate animal restraint and patient handling for blood draws, radiographs, surgical preparation, treatments, and many other medical procedures.
- Help prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.
- Provide compassionate handling and care to patients, helping create a positive experience for pets and their owners.
- Work collaboratively with veterinarians, RVTs, and the rest of the hospital team to keep the day running smoothly.

Receptionist Duties

- Welcome clients and their pets with a friendly, professional, and compassionate approach.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist clients with questions and requests.
- Manage appointment flow, client communications, and patient records accurately.




- Process payments and assist with other administrative duties.
- Help maintain an organized, welcoming reception area.
- Provide excellent customer service while managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.

What We’re Looking For
- A genuine love for animals and a passion for their care.
- Previous veterinary or animal-handling experience is an asset.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Confidence working with animals of different sizes, temperaments, and medical needs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong team spirit.
- Availability for some evening shifts and Saturdays.
