Title: Snow Removal Team Lead – Sidewalk Crews (Winter Seasonal) – Fergus/Elora

About the role

Forma Landscaping is hiring a Team Lead for our winter sidewalk snow removal operations in Fergus and Elora. You'll drive a company truck to sites on your route, run the crew on the ground, and operate snow blowers — with occasional time on dedicated sidewalk machines. This is a hands-on leadership role: you're clearing snow alongside your crew, not supervising from the cab.

Unlike most snow removal jobs, this position comes with guaranteed hours — 20 hours per week minimum, whether it snows or not.

What you'll do

- Drive a company truck between route sites in Fergus and Elora during snow events
- Operate snow blowers and, as needed, sidewalk machines
- Lead a crew of [2–4], assigning sections and keeping the route on schedule
- Do a final walk-through at each site so quality meets our standard before the crew moves on
- Apply ice melter/salt and keep accurate site and application logs
- Complete pre-trip truck inspections and basic equipment checks; report maintenance issues
- Train current crew members on equipment, safety, and site expectations
- Communicate with the operations manager on site conditions, delays, and client concerns

What you need

- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving abstract (required — you'll be driving a company truck)
- On-call availability from November 15 to April 1, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to get to Fergus within 1 hour of a call-out
- Comfortable working outdoors in cold weather for full shifts




- Able to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
- Reliable — crews and clients are counting on you when it snows

Nice to have

- Previous snow removal, landscaping, or outdoor operations experience
- Experience operating sidewalk machines, compact tractors, or similar equipment
- Experience leading a small crew

What we offer

- $27.50–$32.50.00/hour, based on experience
- Guaranteed 20 hours per week — paid whether it snows or not

- Comfortable working outdoors in cold weather for full shifts
