As a Resource Team RPN, you will be available to float to all units of the hospital as required. Qualifications
• Graduate of recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing;
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Knowledge of CNO Standards regarding RPN scope of practice.
• Understanding of MHA and relevant legislation.
• CPR/AED Certification within the last 2 years.
• Completion of Prevention of Violence in the Workplace training (C.
P.
I.) required.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Technical skills such as glucometer reading, vital signs, injection skills, physical assessment/mental health assessment, catheterization, medication administration, O2 administration, basic wound care, suctioning, safe patient handling, bladder scanning, ECT recovery, skin care and feeding
• Ability to develop therapeutic relations with patients
• Ability to function as a member of the inter-disciplinary team
• Basic computer skills required Preferred:
• Two years recent experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing
• Knowledge of mechanical lifts,
