The Lighthouse - Le Phare Counselling and Psychotherapy

Kemptville

The Lighthouse – Le Phare | Kemptville, Ontario Part-time independent contractor | Primarily in person, with virtual opportunities Build your practice in a welcoming, community-rooted clinic where personal support and skilled connection matter. The Lighthouse – Le Phare is seeking a therapist experienced in working with children and youth to join our team. This ongoing opportunity includes supporting clients during a clinician’s planned 12-month absence, alongside receiving new referrals as your practice develops. Our intention is to build a lasting working relationship beyond the leave period. An early January 2027 start is preferred, with availability by mid-January. Onboarding before the holidays may also be possible. Why join Lighthouse? Personal, hands-on administrative support Our administrators, Sarah and Kelly, bring a human touch to supporting clinicians and welcoming clients. You’ll have approachable people to work with on the day-to-day administration of your practice. Professional connection Monthly lunch-and-learns offer opportunities to learn and connect with colleagues. Our clinical lead, Melanie, provides clinical leadership within a collaborative team environment. Marketing support from ownership Ownership actively supports the practice’s marketing and visibility, helping prospective clients discover Lighthouse and its clinicians. Community roots and a welcoming space Work from our established Kemptville practice, with inviting treatment spaces and room availability to support your start. A supported transition and room to grow We will coordinate the handover of suitable existing clients, respecting their needs and preferences.

You will also have opportunities to receive new child-and-youth referrals. Your caseload will build over time; client numbers and session volumes are not guaranteed. The opportunity You will provide developmentally appropriate therapy to children and youth experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, family relationship difficulties and school challenges. We value a flexible therapeutic approach and a range of tools suited to each child. Relevant experience may include play-based, art-based, sandtray, cognitive behavioural and relational approaches. We do not expect every applicant to practise every modality. The role is primarily in person in Kemptville, with opportunities to offer virtual services where clinically appropriate. Some afternoon and evening availability is important for the clients we serve. We will discuss a workable schedule and caseload with you. About you You bring:
• Active registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
• Demonstrated experience providing therapy to children and youth.
• The ability to adapt your approach to a child’s developmental stage, needs and goals.
• Sound professional judgment, clear communication and a collaborative approach.
• Appropriate professional liability insurance.

• Availability to provide in-person appointments in Kemptville, including some afternoons or evenings. RPs who have met, or are close to meeting, CRPO’s independent-practice requirements are preferred. We also welcome applications from strong RP (Qualifying) candidates with relevant child-and-youth experience, subject to clinical fit and an appropriate supervision arrangement. French-language skills and previous private-practice experience are assets. Compensation and supervision A baseline revenue split of 60% to the clinician and 40% to Lighthouse, with the opportunity for the clinician’s share to increase as their weekly caseload grows. Details will be discussed during the interview process. On-site clinical supervision may be available, subject to clinical fit and supervisor availability. Lighthouse is open to contributing towards supervision costs for suitable candidates. Supervision arrangements, fees and any financial support will be discussed individually.

How to apply
Apply through LinkedIn with your résumé and a brief introduction outlining:
• The age groups you work with and your relevant experience.
• Your therapeutic approaches.
• Your registration and independent-practice or supervision status.
• Your preferred weekly availability and earliest start date. Applications will be reviewed as received. Shortlisted candidates will meet with ownership and our clinical lead, with an opportunity to learn more about the practice and ask questions.
