About Chexy
At Chexy, we're building modern financial tools for Canadians, starting with their largest expenses. We turned rent, mortgages, tuition, insurance and other big bills into opportunities to earn rewards, improve cash flow and get more from money they already have to spend.
We're the first platform in Canada that lets people pay nearly any bill with a credit card while unlocking cashback, points and financial flexibility. Billions in payments move through Chexy, our customer base is growing fast, and we've just relaunched the brand. Over the next 12 months we launch several new products, starting with our first credit card in Q1 2027.
We're backed by Khosla Ventures, Crossbeam Venture Partners and Venrex, and we partner with Aeroplan and other leading Canadian financial and telecom brands.
About the role
Chexy is hiring a Director, Growth Marketing to own how new customers find Chexy and how efficiently we acquire them. You report to the CMO and own paid acquisition end to end: budget and channel mix, creative testing, landing page conversion and measurement. One person reports to you, a Manager (or Senior Associate), Growth, who tests new channels under your direction.
This is a performance seat first. Roughly two thirds of what you've done should be paid media: owning real budgets across Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube and affiliate, and moving CAC and payback. The other third is the wider growth toolkit: referral mechanics, contests, creators, partnerships as a channel, and the unconventional tests a challenger brand needs.
You run on agents. Bidding is platform automation, and the production and reporting work is done by agents you build.
Your job is allocation, the testing cadence, deciding what to believe, and where the next dollar goes. We currently work with an agency on paid execution; you decide what stays with them and what comes in-house.
We care about taste, speed and results .
What you’ll own
Paid acquisition
-
- The paid budget across Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, affiliate and whatever comes next: channel mix, pacing, and the case for every dollar
- CAC and payback by channel and by customer segment (renters, homeowners, Gen Z, newcomers)
- Landing page conversion, with the Senior Brand Designer: what gets tested, what ships
Creative testing
-
- A weekly creative testing cadence: briefs, hooks, formats, what gets killed and what scales
- The creative pipeline with the designer and agents: volume from agents, selection by humans
Measurement
-
- Incrementality and holdout tests, and a view of what actually drives signups rather than what the platforms claim
- The weekly growth read to the CMO: what worked, what didn’t, what’s next
New channels and experiments
-
- A pipeline of tests on channels we don’t run yet, executed by your Manager, Growth: referral mechanics, creators, contests, partnership activations, community, offline
- Quick kills and fast scaling
Agency and agents
-
- The agency relationship: scope, what stays with them, what comes in-house, and when
- Your own agents: reporting, anomaly detection, creative fatigue flags, search query mining, budget and bid recommendations
Compliance
-
- Every claim in paid gets reviewed. You build the rulebook so review takes hours, not weeks
What success looks like
Twelve months in:
-
- Blended CAC and payback are at or better than plan, with incrementality tests behind the numbers rather than platform‑reported attribution
- Paid signups activate at the rate the plan assumes; you and the lifecycle lead share the 30‑day activation number
- At least one new channel has gone from test to a meaningful share of signups, and the losers were killed within weeks
- Landing page conversion is up measurably, with a test shipping every week
- The agency’s scope is deliberately smaller or gone, and in‑house output is higher
- Your Manager, Growth runs a test pipeline you would trust unsupervised for a week
- Agents produce the weekly reporting and most of the creative variants; your time goes to decisions
What we’re looking for
-
- 6+ years in growth or performance marketing, in‑house at a consumer app, fintech, telco or subscription business, with roughly 60 to 70% of that time owning paid media
- You have owned a meaningful paid budget end to end and can show what happened to CAC and payback while you held it
- You have run growth beyond paid: refe
