Junip is looking for a Staff Software Engineer who wants to help shoppers make the right purchasing decisions when shopping online. We operate a review platform at significant scale (10,000+ customers / merchants, tens of millions of shoppers / reviews). They both work together to help shoppers make purchasing decisions when buying from ecommerce stores. Design and implement recent features end to end, primarily using Rails and React Solve performance and infrastructure challenges to scale while improving speed & reliability Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, RubyLLM, Vector DB(s), Redis, Sidekiq, AWS etc Experience building web applications at significant scale,
ideally in Ruby on Rails and/or adjacent technologies Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, crafting maintainable code Comfort & eagerness to ship to production daily Confidence in crafting public APIs, leveraging webhooks and building scalable services (finding solutions to N+1 query problems, maintaining endpoint speed and reliability) Experience using AI tools to accelerate both your pace & quality of software development Experience building for ecommerce merchants Experience building agentic tools We have an office in Kitchener Day to day is typically flexible/remote
