Build Hands-On Skills in a Skilled Trade

Colonial Countertops is looking for a dependable and hardworking Stone Countertop Installation Helper to join our team.

In this hands-on role, you will work alongside an experienced Lead Installer, helping deliver and install stone countertops in customers’ homes and on active job sites. When installation support is not required, you will assist with countertop production and general duties in our laminate shop.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing things properly, and wants to develop practical skills in countertop installation and fabrication.

What You’ll Do

Installation Support

- Load, secure, transport and unload countertops, tools and installation materials.
- Assist the Lead Installer with the safe and professional installation of stone countertops.
- Make sure tools, adhesives, fixtures and other required materials are organized and ready for each installation.
- Help inspect countertops before leaving the shop and report any visible concerns.
- Protect customers’ homes and property while moving and installing materials.
- Keep the work area clean and organized throughout the installation.
- Assist with final cleanup and removal of packaging and job-related debris.
- Follow the Lead Installer’s instructions and communicate immediately if you notice missing materials, damage or other concerns.
- Provide customers with a friendly, respectful and professional service experience.

Shop Support

- Assist with the production and handling of laminate countertops when required.




- Move materials and finished countertops safely within the shop.
- Help prepare, organize and clean work areas, tools and materials.
- Assist shop employees with general production tasks as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe workplace.

What We’re Looking For

- Reliable attendance and the ability to report to work on time and ready to begin.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced team members.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a two-person installation crew.
- Solid attention to detail and respect for quality workmanship.
- Professional and respectful behaviour in customers’ homes.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, lifting and safely moving heavy countertops as part of a team.
- Commitment to following safe lifting practices, using required personal protective equipment and complying with all safety procedures.
- Previous experience in construction, renovations, cabinetry, countertops, installation or a production shop is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Working Conditions

This is a physically active position involving work in customers’ homes,



construction environments and a countertop production shop. The role requires regular lifting and carrying, working in different positions, using hand and power tools, and travelling to job sites as part of an installation crew.

Qualifications

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
