Curtis Powerworks (2018) Inc. is a family owned and operated company looking for Journeyman and Apprentice Powerline Technicians to join our overhead powerline construction crews. We offer competitive pay, medical and dental benefits, RRSP matching and regular project work throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

This is a full-time, non-union position with regular travel to project sites.

WHAT WE OFFER

- $44.00/hour for Journeyman Powerline Technicians
- Apprentice wages based on apprenticeship level and experience

- $65/day living-out allowance when applicable, unless meals or cooking facilities are included in accommodations

THE WORK

- Overhead power distribution and transmission line construction and maintenance
- Pole setting, framing and installation
- Conductor stringing, sagging and clipping
- Installation of line hardware and associated equipment
- Working with powerline construction crews and specialized equipment
- Driving bucket trucks, pickups, side by sides, argos and other various equipment.
- Operating off road track machines and other utility equipment




- Following established safety procedures and utility requirements
- Travelling regularly to project sites throughout Newfoundland and Labrador and other locations as required

JOURNEYMAN REQUIREMENTS

- Red seal Journeyman Powerline Technician qualification
- Experience in overhead distribution and transmission construction and maintenance
- Strong understanding of powerline safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Valid driver's license; commercial license is an asset
- Willingness to travel regularly and work away from home

APPRENTICE REQUIREMENTS

- Registered Powerline Technician apprentice, or a motivated candidate pursuing an apprenticeship
- Valid driver's license; commercial license is an asset
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Commitment to safety and following direction from experienced crew members
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to travel and work away from home as project requirements dictate

Relevant construction experience and equipment operating experience are assets.
