BinSentry is an extremely fast-growing ag-tech company started here in KW.
BinSentry is focused on providing solutions for the agriculture supply chain that help increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability. As a leader in the use of artificial intelligence, BinSentry offers technology solutions that pair best-in-class optical sensors with user-friendly software to provide our customers with enhanced forecasting and decision-making capabilities.
With our technology, feed mills and protein producers are enhancing feed ordering efficiency, raising healthier animals, improving employee safety, reducing their environmental footprint and - most significantly - uncovering new savings. Today, BinSentry is monitoring more than 70,000 bins in real time across North America. When it comes to the future of agricultural supply chain management, BinSentry is leading the way. We're looking for an IT Manager who can own our internal IT and our physical facilities end-to-end: someone who can lead and develop a small team, but who is just as comfortable racking a switch, troubleshooting a laptop, or walking a contractor through the building. The IT team currently also manages small facilities requests like building desks, fixing broken doors, or working with the landlord.
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations or systems administration
- 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or supervising IT staff
- Solid networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi, firewalls, VLANs, VPN) in a multi-site or office + lab/production environment
- Experience implementing and maintaining security controls (patching, backups, device encryption, access reviews)
and supporting audits or customer security questionnaires
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, and service agreements
- Exposure to facilities or office operations: building access, maintenance, space planning, health and safety
- able to explain technical issues to non-technical people
- Capable of guiding others through complex technical problems
- What is an IT Manager expected to do?
Direct the day-to-day activities of the IT team by setting priorities, while personally handling escalations and hands-on work
Conduct regular performance reviews and support individual career development
Run internal IT
Own identity, device, and application lifecycle: employee onboarding and offboarding, hardware provisioning, software licensing, and SaaS administration
Operate and improve the corporate network and infrastructure across the office, lab, and assembly areas
Maintain and enforce IT security controls; partner with Engineering and Security on policies, audits, and customer security questionnaires
Manage the IT budget and procure the tools, equipment, and services the company needs
Run the facilities
Own the physical workplace: building access and physical security, maintenance, moving of equipment
Manage facilities vendors, contractors, and the landlord relationship; Plan and execute office changes: seating, expansions, moves, and build-outs for lab and assembly space
Maintain workplace health and safety basics and ensure facilities meet any compliance or insurance requirements
Full, company-paid group health and dental advantages plus your choice of an annual HSA or PSA
Competitive compensation and an equity package
We use artificial intelligence tools to support parts of our recruitment process, such as screening or assessing applications.
