Based in Ottawa or Vancouver, this role involves designing FEC algorithms that enhance optical transceivers for next-generation systems. The successful candidate will research FEC methodologies while collaborating with teams across DSP, ASIC, and firmware development. You will focus on trade-off analyses and ensure hardware implementations are productive.

Key Responsibilities:
Research and optimize forward error correction methodologies
Develop coding architectures, including LDPC and staircase codes




Simulate FEC performance in optical systems
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
Develop simulation models for algorithm testing

Requirements:
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in relevant fields
Expertise in coding theory and FEC schemes
Programming skills in languages such as Python or MATLAB
Experience with GitHub version control systems
Familiarity with hardware languages is advantageous
