Position Overview The Yard Helper / Drain Technician will assist with the preparation and processing of end-of-life vehicles by safely draining automotive fluids, supporting yard operations, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Safely drain and remove automotive fluids, including oil, coolant, transmission fluid, and other fluids, in accordance with established procedures
Assist with the preparation and processing of end-of-life vehicles for recycling
Identify, collect, and properly handle automotive fluids, batteries, and other designated materials in accordance with company procedures and applicable environmental requirements
Maintain clean, organized,



and safe work areas throughout the yard and designated works stations
Assist with general yard duties, including moving materials, sorting items and maintaining the organization of vehicles and parts.
Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and protected work practices
Assist other yard team members with daily operational tasks as required
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements
Previous experience in an automotive recycling, mechanical or general labour environment is an asset
Familiarity with automotive fluids and vehicle components is considered an asset
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing and working outdoors in various weather conditions
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Reliable transportation to and from work as Standard Auto Wreckers is not accessible by public transit.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
