About the role : A Maintenance Accountant role be crucial in handling the financial tracking and accounting related to building maintenance, repairs, and operational services for residential, condominium or commercial properties.

Responsibilities :
Processing invoices for maintenance vendors
Tracking repair and maintenance expenses by property
Managing purchase orders and work-order billing
Reconciling maintenance budgets against actual spending
Recording accounts payable and receivable related to maintenance operations
Assisting with monthly financial reports for property managers
Monitoring service contracts (HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, cleaning, etc)
Ensuring maintenance costs are coded correcly in acounting systems
Supporting audits and maintaining financial records




Coordinating with maintenance supervisors and property managers on budget issues
Reviewing maintenance invoices for accuracy
Entering expenses into accounting software
Following up on unpaid vendor bills
Preparing budget variance report
Tracking capital expenditures versus routine maintenance
Updating spreadsheets and financial databases

Skills :
Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
Experience with property management like Yardi
Strong MS Excel
Attention to details
Ability to work under pressure in rapid paced environment
Positive command over communication
Ability to identify discrepancies, analyze financial data, resolve accounting issues efficiently
