Cowley Abbott holds two live auctions in Toronto each year, in conjunction with the global auction schedule in the spring and fall, in addition to monthly online auctions of Canadian and International art. Artworks are available for in-person viewing for both online and live auctions.

Cowley Abbott also offers artwork for private sale, formal appraisals and collection management services. The Cowley Abbott team regularly collaborates with institutions and organizations across Canada for charity auctions, valuation days and speaking events.

Job Description Includes (but is not limited to):

Cowley Abbott is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Fine Art Logistics and Shipping Coordinator to manage the protected, secure, and seamless storage, transport, and installation of high-value artworks. In this role, you will act as the vital link between our clients, art handlers, and global freight networks. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of museum-grade art handling standards, international customs regulations.



The candidate must be able to thrive under tight gallery and auction deadlines in a quick-paced, high volume setting.

Core Responsibilities
Coordinate Shipments: Plan and track domestic and international art shipments
Manage Documentation: Prepare accurate bills of lading, customs paperwork, condition reports, and specialized permits with third-party shipping companies
Vendor & Crew Scheduling: Oversee specialized fine art couriers, crating companies, and local art handling crews
Estimate Costs: Generate detailed cost estimates, client quotes, and project budgets for shipping and storage services
Client Relations: support daily running of the gallery; serve as the primary point of contact for shipping related inquiries, providing real-time transit updates; assist staff with artwork previews for clients
Inventory Management: Maintain locations of stored artwork for clients, assist with accessing works for exhibition and display, as well as monthly photography schedules
Database Management: Maintain and update accurate inventory in company database
