Job Description The Tax Group is looking for a lawyer with a background in commodity tax to join one of the largest tax teams, offering a variety of stimulating challenges. The retained candidate will be called upon to:
Advise businesses on the application of commodity tax rules, including the GST/HST, the QST, provincial sales taxes, excise taxes and other specific indirect taxes.
Represent businesses in commodity tax audits and objections.
Support the structuring of commercial transactions to minimize potential negative commodity tax implications.

About You You have a bachelor's degree in civil law
You are a member in valuable standing of the Barreau du Québec
You have a master's degree in tax law (or are in the process of obtaining one)



or have completed the In-Depth Tax Program offered by CPA Canada
You have 2 to 4 years of experience in commodity tax law, in a law firm or an accounting firm
You are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
You are meticulous and have excellent analytical and communication skills
You are able to work both independently and as part of a team, and you have a proven ability to take initiative and be resourceful
You possess business acumen and a client-focused approach
