Nextria
Quebec City
Québec first. Build the market, do not manage a territory.
Languages: professional fluency in French and English. You will be Nextria's Francophone voice in the market.
Reports to: Head of Global Sales and Partnerships.
Nextria is based in Chelsea, Québec. We build sovereign AI for organizations whose data cannot leave their own walls, and Québec is our priority market for the coming year.
This is not a territory sales job with a Francophone label on it. We are looking for someone senior enough to sit across from a deputy minister, a Crown corporation executive, a defence or public safety leader, or the head of a major systems integrator, and be the person who represents Nextria in that room.
You would own the Québec mandate end to end: the relationships, the procurement path, the partner network, the positioning, and the first referenceable deployments.
The mandate
Year one, the priority is Québec. Establish Nextria as a leading provider of sovereign AI in Québec, and build a repeatable commercial position across Québec government, Crown corporations, defence and public safety, and regulated industries.
Second, Francophone federal. Develop French-language opportunities across the Government of Canada, where Nextria already holds federal procurement vehicles for software licensing, information technology hardware, and cyber security.
Then, expansion. Develop selected opportunities in France and other Francophone markets once the Québec position is real.
That order is deliberate, and we would rather you went deep in Québec than spent a third of the year developing France.
What you would own
This is the part that is not ordinary business development, and it is the reason the role is at this level.
Represent Nextria with Québec government stakeholders, industry associations, and the Québec technology ecosystem.
Help shape Nextria's positioning around sovereign AI, digital sovereignty, and Québec procurement priorities.
Be the credible Francophone voice for Nextria in public settings: briefings, panels, associations, and the press when we ask you to be.
Bring the market back to us. What Québec buyers actually need shapes the product, not just the pitch.
Public sector and direct sales
Build and run the Québec business development plan, then the plan for other Francophone markets.
Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities across Québec government, Crown corporations, municipalities, health and education, defence and public safety, and regulated industries.
Work out the procurement path. Nextria holds federal vehicles; the route into Québec public bodies, including through the Centre d'acquisitions gouvernementales (CAG), is work that has not been done yet and is yours to do.
Run the full cycle: discovery, demonstrations, proposals, procurement, negotiation, close, and expansion.
Keep an honest pipeline and forecast. We would rather hear that a deal is not real than watch it sit in a stage for two quarters.
Partners and channel
Recruit the small number of Québec systems integrators,
value-added resellers, and distributors who genuinely hold the relationships, and build real joint plans with them rather than signed agreements that do nothing.
Identify technology partners whose platforms, infrastructure, or services complement CastleGuard.
Support partners through opportunity development, proposals, and customer deployment, and measure what they actually contribute.
Customer and solution engagement
Understand customer missions, operating environments, security requirements, and the outcomes they are accountable for.
Position Nextria around sovereign AI, data residency, French-language operations, and deployments that run with no connection to the outside world.
Work with our technical team on demonstrations, solution designs, and customer-specific use cases.
Translate the technology into operational and business value without needing a specialist in the room for every conversation.
Your first twelve months
We will judge this role on specific things, not on activity.
Relationships established with a targeted set of Crown corporations.
The procurement path determined for CastleGuard across Québec public bodies, written down and usable by the rest of the company.
Three to five serious Québec public-sector opportunities developed, with named sponsors and a defined problem, not a list of meetings.
At least one pilot secured , scoped to 60 to 90 days.
Two to three high-value Québec channel or systems integrator relationships built, with joint plans and active pipeline.
At least one pilot or opportunity converted into a referenceable deployment.
Qualifications
Required
Professional fluency in French and English, written and spoken, with the presence to brief at executive level in both.
Significant senior experience in business development, enterprise sales, or strategic partnerships, including ownership of a market rather than a quota inside someone else's.
A genuine network in Québec public sector, Crown corporations, defence or public safety, or among the integrators who serve them.
Demonstrated ability to run complex public-sector opportunities from first conversation through procurement and contract.
A working understanding of how Québec public bodies actually buy, and the patience that goes with it.
The ability to create a market where there is little existing structure or brand awareness.
The ability to understand and communicate a technical solution without relying on a specialist for every conversation.
Willingness to travel within Québec and Canada, and periodically to France.
Preferred
Existing relationships within the Government of Québec,
Crown corporations, the Government of Canada, or major public-sector integrators.
Familiarity with the Québec regulatory and language environment as it affects technology buyers.
Experience in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, sovereign cloud, data infrastructure, or enterprise software.
Familiarity with secure, classified, air-gapped, or mission-critical environments.
Experience launching or expanding a technology company into a recent market.
A network of regional integrators, resellers, and technology companies in Québec.
The right person
You are a builder who is comfortable creating opportunities where none exist yet, and senior enough that the first meeting happens because of who you are.
You are equally at ease briefing a deputy minister, recruiting an integrator, coordinating a technical demonstration, and negotiating a commercial agreement. You know that public-sector work rewards patience, credibility, and follow-through, and that the fastest way to lose a government account is to oversell.
That last part matters here. Nextria holds its public claims to a documented standard: if a capability is not accredited, not fielded, or not measured, we do not say that it is. You would be expected to sell the same way.
Why this role, now
The product is real and in the field. CastleGuard is in active deployment with the Department of National Defence, and we conduct research with Defence Research and Development Canada and Dalhousie University.
We built the French-language capability ourselves. Evia is the first French-Canadian translation model built for military and Government of Canada use, and it is ours. This is not an English product with French bolted on.
The credentials are in place. CastleGuard is Protected B accredited, and deployable to Secret and Top Secret enclaves. Nextria is ISO 27001 certified and Controlled Goods registered.
We are here. Nextria is based in Chelsea, Québec, and the Québec market page at /quebec is the argument you would be taking out.
The mandate is yours. Nobody is managing this market today. You would not be inheriting a plan, you would be writing it.
Compensation
Nextria offers a competitive package:
Performance-based commission or incentive compensation.
Participation in Nextria's equity program through stock options.
Benefits and paid time off.
Travel and business-development expenses.
Final compensation will reflect experience, market relationships, and the seniority of the mandate.
