Summary of responsibilities As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the role of Registered Nurse (RN) at CCH is to deliver secure, effective, patient-centered, ethical, and evidenced-based nursing care.

The overall function of the RN is to assist our patients and community to manage clinical conditions and transitions and maximize their self-care abilities.

The RN also acts as a resource for members of the care team as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.

It is expected that you will be also be trained to function in the OR, PACU and pre and post endoscopy.

Requirements of the job • Undergraduate degree (4 year) or community college diploma in nursing • Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) • Valid Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification • Is committed to living the Mission and Values of Cornwall Community Hospital • Demonstrated regular,



punctual attendance • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety • Clinical knowledge and skills with central lines • Recent experience in an OR setting, within the past 2 years • Two (2) or more years of Critical Care experience (within last 3 years) • Must have completed OR Course with certificate • Completion of critical care self-learning modules Assets • Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French – and testing completed) Key skills or competencies • Superior interpersonal organizational and communication skills • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team. • Leadership and decision-making skills • Ability to work under pressure and to adapt to change • Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking, communication (oral and written), and problem solving skills • Ability to develop, implement, evaluate and adapt a therapeutic nursing plan (Care plan) • Completes established curricula as required at the unit level
