we encourage you to review the resource page on .QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience: Bachelor of Education or equivalent.

Training and experience in metalwork, machining, mechanics, small engine and/or welding;Teaching experience in metalwork or mechanics

Current certification and familiarity with shop safety

Previous work experience in trades/apprenticeship would be an asset;Journey person certification in welding or small engine technician would be an asset;DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:Candidates should have and may be assessed on their: Superior classroom management, planning and organizational skills; Willingness and ability to teach all relevant Learning Standards and foster an experiential learning philosophy; Ability to adapt and modify curriculum to meet a range of learning abilities while incorporating cultural values and traditions into curricular components; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with students, parents, administration and other staff members; Ability to differentiate instruction using current assessment for learning pedagogy and practice.

Willingness and ability to work as a member of a professional team to promote and work collaboratively to support school initiatives and the total school program; A knowledge and sensitivity to the culture and aspirations of First Nations people of Yukon and a culturally diverse student population.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment: Criminal Record/RCMP Check with Vulnerable Sector; to be provided before the first day of employment, dated no more than 3 months prior to your start date
