Our children are in school full-time and have several after-school activities. We value reading, learning, outdoor and creative play and are a minimal-screen household. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with children, while also being organized and willing to help keep family life running smoothly.

Job description

Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant

North York, Toronto | 20–30 hours/week | Weekday afternoons/evenings

We are looking for an experienced, active, warm and dependable nanny/family assistant to care for our two children (ages 6 and 3) and provide practical household support. The 3 year old is daytime potty trained.

The childcare portion of the role includes:

- School pickup and transportation to/from activities
- Preparing healthy snacks and meals for the children
- Homework support, including reading practice and other schoolwork
- Engaging the children in books, crafts, games, outdoor play and other screen-free activities
- Supporting after-school and evening routines
- Keeping children’s bedrooms and play areas tidy
- Cleaning up after children’s meals and activities
- Children’s laundry including bed sheets
- Organizing and rotating toys, books, activities and clothing
- Keeping track of uniforms, school bags, activity equipment and other children’s belongings
- Helping prepare the children and their belongings for the following day

During times when the children are at school or otherwise occupied,



we would appreciate help with light family-assistant/household tasks such as tidying and resetting common areas, light meal preparation, organizing, groceries or household errands.

We have separate cleaning support, so this is not a deep-cleaning position (although we are open to a full time combined role for the right candidate). We are looking for someone who is happy to pitch in and notices what needs doing, while understanding that the children are the priority.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is warm, calm, responsible, organized and proactive, with strong English communication skills and previous childcare experience. The goal is to help us raise kind, confident and healthy kids.

A safe and confident driver is a must. Having your own reliable vehicle would be an asset for occasional work-related use, with mileage reimbursed. Otherwise, a family vehicle may be available for regular children’s transportation.

Spanish-speaking would be a significant plus, as our children are learning Spanish and we would love to reinforce the language naturally at home.

First Aid/CPR, a clear background/vulnerable-sector check and strong references are required or will be required before employment.

Schedule: Approximately 20–30 hours/week, primarily weekday afternoons and evenings. We offer guaranteed weekly hours and have some flexibility in designing the schedule around the right candidate. Additional hours may occasionally be available.

Start date: November 2026 (but some flexibility for the right candidate). Ideally Monday - Friday but we are open to some agreed flexibility for the right candidate.

Compensation: Approximately $25–$30/hour gross, on payroll, depending on experience and fit. This is not a cash job.
