Our wonderful 3 children came into our care in July of 2025. Our 17 year old is independent and can get herself to school. We are looking for someone to support us with our 7 year old girl and 14 year old boy before and after school. Responsibilities in the morning include getting our youngest ready for school, hair, breakfast and then walking her to the bus stop.
Our 14 year old is pretty independent but needs reminders to get showered, pack lunch etc. Responsibilities after school include picking the youngest up from the bus, preparing a healthy snack and meal prep. Light housework when time permits would be an added bonus.
Hours would be 6:45 am - 8:15 am (until youngest is picked up from bus stop), and 3:30-5:30. Fridays are half days so bus pick up is 12:30 and we are home from work around 4 usually. If you would prefer to stick around on Friday mornings until pick up we could negotiate additional hours through help with laundry and cleaning jobs.
We can also negotiate PD days - usually we put our youngest in camp but we can arrange a full day of work as well. We have 2 cats in the house and a friendly, large dog. While we don't require help to look after the animals, we do require you to like them.

We are hoping to hire someone as soon as possible! Something to know: our 14 year old is very sweet, but he does have some special needs. He has ADHD, FASD, and a mild intellectual disability. He LOVES new people, telling jokes and playing.

About you: we are looking for someone patient and understanding of child development.



We want you to help our kids develop age appropriate independence. We believe you deserve to be treated with kindness and respect - you are helping the whole family but you aren't doing their jobs for them.
You are kind but firm. You must not only be comfortable in a lesbian household, but also affirming. We don't tolerate racism in our home and expect these values to be shared with someone spending time in our home. We have had success with other nannies on this site that were open to working a split shift like we are offering.

However, if you are in only one part of the day but can't do the other, please reach out anyway.

Location: We are located in Southeast Calgary, in Douglasdale. You will be responsible for getting yourself to and from our home, which is located about a 6 minute walk from a couple of bus stops. Currently we have a friend of our 17 year old doing this job in the morning because she has a spare.

We are open to teenagers that have flexibility in their school schedule, but we do need consistency. My wife works shift work and is often away for weeks at a time.
