German Language Instructor - Vancouver

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced German Language Instructor to teach learners at beginner through advanced levels and support the development of practical German communication skills.

The instructor will deliver engaging lessons in speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and German-speaking cultural contexts.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver structured German-language lessons appropriate to student proficiency and learning goals. Develop classroom activities, assignments, assessments, and instructional resources. Encourage active German communication through practical, interactive learning.



Assess student progress and provide timely feedback. Adapt instruction to individual learner needs and proficiency levels. Incorporate authentic German-language materials and cultural content where appropriate.

Qualifications

Advanced or native-level German proficiency is required. A bachelor's degree in German, Education, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Language Teaching, or a related field is preferred. Previous German-language teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of CEFR proficiency levels and experience preparing students for Goethe-Institut, telc, or comparable German-language examinations are assets. Solid classroom-management, communication, technology, and organizational skills are required.

Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
