About Us
Young Innovators Robotics Lab delivers hands-on STEM programming — robotics, coding, 3D printing, and AI — to youth aged 7–14 across the Lower Mainland through classes, camps, and competitions including Battle Bots.
About the Role
We're hiring a Program Manager to supervise our Camp/Program Instructors and lead curriculum design across our Fraser Valley sites. You'll be the direct point of oversight for instructors — monitoring their teaching quality, coaching them directly, and handling day-to-day performance conversations yourself, escalating only serious disciplinary matters to leadership. You'll also coordinate schedules across multiple locations and be a point of contact for parents when needed.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise Camp/Program Instructors: monitor classroom delivery, provide coaching and feedback, and handle day-to-day performance conversations directly — escalating only serious disciplinary matters
- Onboard and train new instructors on curriculum, safety expectations, and site logistics
- Create instructional materials and hands-on activities; prototype and test projects for safety and engagement
- Prepare teaching schedules, lesson outlines, and resource lists for instructors
- Support logistical planning for camp activities across Langley, Abbotsford, Mission, and Delta
- Serve as a point of contact for parents when issues arise, alongside your instructor-facing responsibilities
- Track attendance,
student feedback, and program progress
- Prepare reports and recommendations for stakeholders and partners
QualificationsRequired
- A teaching background — ideally a retired teacher or Teacher-on-Call (TOC); classroom management experience is the strongest proxy we look for
- Significant, proven experience supervising or managing a team — we're looking for 5+ years of real supervisory experience, not a single year in a junior lead or coordinator-level role
- Comfortable having direct, professional conversations about performance, and comfortable coaching instructors in a constructive, non-harsh way
- Comfortable engaging with parents directly when needed
- Able to follow and enforce a defined process rather than freelancing their own approach
- Comfortable managing logistics across multiple sites
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable transportation (travel between sites required)
Assets
- Background or strong interest in STEM education, curriculum design, or program coordination
- Familiarity with robotics/coding tools (VEX IQ, Scratch, Micro:bit, TinkerCAD)
What We Offer
- Flexible, part-time hours
