Yard Dawgs

Edmonton

We want to hire people who are better at this than we are. That is how we have grown, and it is the only way we keep growing. If you are the kind of leader who raises the standard of everyone around you and brings ideas nobody asked for, this might be the best move you ever make.

THE SHORT VERSION OF OUR STORY

A few years ago Yard Dawgs was a single branch. Today we are a growing network of branches across Western Canada and into the US, and we are just getting started. We did not get here with gimmicks. We got here by being obsessed with quality and by promoting our best people. Our customers see the difference, and our reviews speak for themselves. Look us up. And our regional leadership started in the field, as technicians, so we know exactly what this job takes.

THE ROLE

Run our Edmonton branch. Not manage it, lead it.

You will own everything: the people, the trucks, the equipment, the shop, the product, the numbers, and the customers. But the heart of this job is people. A branch is only as good as its techs, so you will hire them, train them, push them, and turn them into the best crew in the city, the kind of people who are proud to wear the Yard Dawgs name.

You will run your branch like it is yours. We run on a proven system and a simple set of core values we call ACE: Accountability, Customer Obsession, and Excellence. We expect you to live them, execute the system, sharpen it, and bring us ideas that make the whole company better. We want your judgment, not just your hands.

Success in your first year is simple to say and hard to do: build a team that performs, run a clean and efficient operation, grow the branch, and leave it better than you found it.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Your people. Hire, train, and develop a team of techs, hold them to a high standard with respect, help them grow as individuals, and know when to make the hard call.

Your operation. Keep the shop, trucks, and equipment clean, organized, and ready to run. Spot inefficiency before it costs you.

Plan ahead so you are never caught short on product or people.

Your equipment. Be genuinely hands-on. Understand the trucks, tools, and application gear, and fix problems on the fly so the branch never loses a day.

Your numbers. Own the branch P&L;, the revenue, and the targets. Be sharp with the math that runs a branch: product usage, application rates, and variances. Decide with data, not hunches.

Your customers. Be customer obsessed. Get into the field, handle the hard conversations, and build a reputation that keeps customers for life.

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU

● Performance bonuses and profit share. When your branch wins, you win, and it is real money, not a token.

● Real growth: grow your branch into the best one we have, get better every season, and be rewarded for the results you create.

● Ownership and a voice. Your branch, your call, and a company that genuinely wants your ideas.

● Health and dental advantages, paid time off, and a lighter schedule over the winter so you can actually recharge.

● Stability. A permanent, year-round, full-time role with a company that is growing fast and winning.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF

● You have led a team and gotten real results through other people.

● You are hungry and driven, and you spot the things everyone else walks past.

● You raise the standard of everyone around you.

● You own your results completely, no excuses.

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF

● You have never been the one people answer to.

● You need someone over your shoulder to perform.

● You want a comfortable job to coast in.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience in the field and running crews is a real asset here. A lawn care background specifically is not required, and strong leaders from other trades and service businesses are welcome, but you do need to be comfortable in the field and hands-on. We can teach the green side. We cannot teach leadership.

● Proven experience leading and developing a team, ideally in lawn care, landscaping, pest control, agriculture, trades, or another hands-on field-service business.

● Real mechanical aptitude with trucks, tools, and equipment.

● Comfort with the financials and math that run a branch: P&L;, product usage, application rates, and variances.

● A fully valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.

● An Alberta pesticide applicator certificate is an asset, or a willingness to get one.

● Legally authorized to work in Canada.
