We’re looking for hardworking, dependable and experienced Asphalt Raker to join our road construction crews for a 30–60-day, full-time end-of-season opportunity across Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

- Rake and spread asphalt efficiently to achieve the required grade, depth, and finish.
- Support paving crews with various asphalt and road construction duties.
- Perform physically demanding manual labour using hand tools and equipment.




- Assist with the safe operation of rollers, skid steers, and other equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Properly clean, organize, and store tools and equipment.
- Identify and help eliminate potential workplace hazards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and site requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of asphalt raking experience working with paving crews.
- Experience operating rollers and/or skid steers is an asset.
- Valid Safety Tickets: CSTS 2020 - Ground Disturbance - Confined Space - Fall Protection.External Flagger Training - First Aid - TDG and Rigging is an assets
- Able to successfully pass a drug and alcohol test
- Knowledge of asphalt paving and municipal road construction practices.
- Safe work practices and proper use of hand tools and equipment.
- Able to perform strenuous physical work for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

- Availability for weekend work and overtime as required.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license, your own vehicle and a clean driver's abstract.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid safety certifications are required.
