Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project Manager to oversee our Heavy Civil construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, and proficiency with industry-standard management software. This role involves coordinating teams, managing schedules, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining safety standards and fostering effective communication among stakeholders to achieve project success.

Responsibilities

- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation using construction management software.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth project workflows.
- Manage project budgets and perform construction estimating to ensure financial efficiency.
- Oversee daily operations on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality control measures.
- Utilize company programs for document management, design review,



and site planning.
- Monitor project progress through regular site visits, meetings, and reporting; adjust schedules as necessary.
- Lead project meetings to communicate updates, address issues, and align team efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and building codes.
- Manage project documentation including schematics, change orders, and progress reports.

Experience

- 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction
- Experience with earthworks, grading or road construction projects
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, change management and cost control
- Comfort with scheduling and project management software
- Clear communicator who can work with field crews, clients and office staff alike
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites
- Engineering diploma or degree, construction management education, or equivalent experience
- PMP or Gold Seal certification is an asset
