Cultured Coast is looking for a dependable, creative and friendly Retail Sales & Social Media Associate to join our team at Woodgrove Centre in Nanaimo.

This is a full-time position offering approximately 32–40 hours per week. The successful candidate will generally have a consistent schedule with two consecutive days off, but must be available to work a combination of weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.

This is a hybrid role combining customer service, day-to-day store operations and responsibility for our social-media presence. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, engaging with customers and creating interesting content that reflects the personality of our store and products.

Responsibilities include:

- Providing friendly, helpful customer service
- Operating the till and processing customer transactions
- Opening and closing the store independently
- Creating and publishing content for Instagram and Facebook
- Producing posts, Stories and Reels on a consistent basis
- Photographing and filming merchandise and in-store content
- Responding appropriately to social-media comments and messages
- Promoting current products, sales and store updates
- Keeping displays stocked, organized and visually appealing
- Receiving and putting away inventory when required
- General cleaning and maintaining a welcoming store environment
- Assisting with other day-to-day store duties as needed

The ideal candidate:

- Is reliable,



responsible and comfortable working alone
- Has strong customer-service and communication skills
- Is confident using Instagram and Facebook
- Has experience creating engaging photos, videos, Stories or Reels
- Can manage social-media responsibilities consistently without frequent reminders
- Is creative and has a good eye for visually appealing content
- Is comfortable responding to customers both in person and online
- Can balance social-media work with customers and other store responsibilities
- Is organized, self-motivated and able to identify what needs to be done
- Has adaptable availability, including weekends, some evenings and holidays

Previous retail or customer-service experience is preferred but not required. Social-media or content-creation experience is a strong asset. Applicants with relevant experience are encouraged to include examples of accounts they have managed or content they have created.

Compensation:

$19.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on retail, customer-service and social-media experience. Candidates who demonstrate consistent, high-quality management of our social-media presence may be eligible for a wage review based on performance.
