Position Summary – As a Barista/Cashier at Kibo Cafe, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable customer experiences—not only through crafting great beverages but also by supporting a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This role combines café service with light retail duties, perfect for someone who enjoys working with others and contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

- Act as primary shift lead when the Assistant manager is unavailable
- Supervise, train, and coach baristas and retail associates
- Serve as the communication bridge between staff and management

Store Operations

- Split shifts between our SRIC and Gerstein Library locations as directed
- Lead store opening and closing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Oversee café, market, and grab-and-go inventory and product quality
- Manage supplier ordering, delivery intake, and stock accuracy
- Transferring inventory, ingredients,



and necessary supplies between Kibo Cafe locations as required to support daily operations.
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including espresso-based drinks and teas
- Provide friendly, attentive service and help create a welcoming space for customers and teammates
- Operate the POS system accurately for both café and market transactions

Customer Experience

- Ensure a consistent, hospitable, and elevated guest experience
- Handle escalated customer service issues professionally
- Uphold brand-aligned service standards across all touchpoints

POSITION EXPECTATIONS

- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, barista, and inventory roles
- Available to work all days of the week, including weekends
- Able to work early shifts starting at 7:00 AM
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, French not required.
- Punctual and reliable — consistent on-time attendance is essential
