Resident Care Manager (RN)

About the Role

The Resident Care Manager provides leadership and oversight of daily resident care, supporting safe, consistent and person-centred service delivery. Working closely with nursing staff, care teams and site leadership, this individual promotes clinical excellence, staff development and a positive living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support nursing and care staff in delivering quality, person-centred care.
- Oversee resident assessments, care planning and ongoing evaluations to ensure care reflects changing needs.
- Monitor care delivery, documentation and clinical practices to support professional standards and organizational policies.
- Provide coaching, mentorship and performance feedback to strengthen team skills and accountability.
- Support staffing, scheduling and daily assignments to meet resident care needs.
- Build positive relationships with residents and families, responding to questions and concerns with compassion and professionalism.
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals and other care partners to coordinate services.
- Support medication safety, infection prevention and control, and resident safety initiatives.




- Participate in incident reviews, quality improvement activities and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist with staff recruitment, orientation, education and performance management.
- Foster a respectful, collaborative workplace focused on resident dignity, choice and well-being.

Qualifications

- RN Nursing education and current registration in good standing with the applicable Manitoba nursing regulatory body, or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Nursing leadership or supervisory experience, preferably within long-term care or seniors’ care.
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment and care coordination skills.
- Experience supporting staff development, managing competing priorities and addressing concerns constructively.
- Knowledge of person-centred care, dementia care, infection prevention and quality improvement.
- Excellent communication, organizational and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation and care management systems.
