We are currently seeking a CAD Designer / Drafter to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of manufacturing support, 3D scanning, mechanical design, drafting, and collaboration. The successful candidate will work closely with production, project management, and customers to transform concepts, existing equipment, and field measurements into detailed manufacturing-ready drawings.

Responsibilities

- Perform 3D scanning of parts, assemblies, equipment, and field installations using our Creaform HandySCAN 3D scanner.
- Process and utilize scan data to develop accurate CAD models.
- Create 3D part, weldment, assembly, and sheet metal models in SolidWorks.
- Generate detailed manufacturing drawing packages for the production floor.
- Create fabrication, assembly, machining, and installation drawings.
- Maintain and update engineering documentation and revision records.
- Develop bills of materials (BOMs) and support manufacturing documentation.
- Work closely with shop personnel to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Reverse engineer existing equipment and components as required.
- Assist with project documentation and drawing management.
- Enter and maintain job data within our ERP system.
- Create and release jobs within JobBOSS² ERP.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, standards development, and drafting best practices.
- Assist with various technical and operational projects as required.

Qualifications Required

- Diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Design, Drafting,



Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred

- Experience with 3D scanning and reverse engineering.
- Experience with Creaform HandySCAN or similar scanning equipment.
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, machining, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Experience creating weldment, sheet metal, and assembly models in SolidWorks.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly JobBOSS².
- Familiarity with manufacturing workflows and shop floor processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, drafting standards, and drawing control practices.
- Experience performing field measurements and site visits.

You are a hands-on designer who enjoys seeing your work become reality on the shop floor. You're comfortable moving between the office and production environment, whether you're scanning equipment in the field, building a detailed SolidWorks model, creating fabrication drawings, or helping ensure ERP job data is accurate and complete. You take pride in producing high-quality work, solving practical problems, and supporting manufacturing operations.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
