What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Foreperson, Groundsman is responsible for leading ground crews and coordinating daily field activities in support of transmission, distribution, and utility construction projects. The Foreperson ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, and company policies while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Location: Manitoba

Term: 6 Months with Opportunity for Extension

What You'll Do Here;

· Lead and supervise General Labor crews performing general labour, site preparation, material handling, and utility construction support activities

· Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and daily field operations to ensure safe and productive execution of work

· Promote a strong safety culture through tailboard meetings, hazard assessments, job planning, and compliance with all health and safety requirements

· Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications, company procedures, and regulatory requirements

· Oversee site preparation, excavation support, material movement, housekeeping, and restoration activities





· Monitor crew productivity, track daily progress, and maintain accurate field documentation and reporting

· Coordinate material deliveries, equipment utilization, and site logistics to support project objectives

· Mentor crew members while fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

· Collaborate with supervisors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve field issues and maintain workflow

· Travel to project sites, including remote locations, and work varying schedules as required

What You'll Bring

· Minimum 5 years of experience in utility, civil, construction, or infrastructure projects

· Previous leadership or crew supervision experience in a construction workplace

· Strong knowledge of construction methods, site safety requirements, and utility construction practices

· Experience coordinating field crews, materials, equipment, and daily work activities

· Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, work packages, and project specifications

· Strong communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field environments

· Valid Driver's Licence, with Class 1 or Class 3 considered an asset

· Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions

· Willingness to travel and work in remote locations when required

Pay: From $64.00 per hour
