Volkswagen Waterloo, is looking for a 2nd- or 3rd-year Automotive Service Technician Apprentice to join our service team. You’ll work alongside experienced licensed technicians, strengthen your maintenance and repair skills, and gain diagnostic experience as you progress through your apprenticeship.

We’re looking for someone who asks questions, takes pride in doing the job properly and brings a positive attitude to the shop.

What you’ll do

- Perform vehicle maintenance, inspections and repairs appropriate to your apprenticeship level, under the supervision of licensed technicians.
- Complete services such as oil changes, tire installation and balancing, and brake and suspension work as your training allows.
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical and electrical concerns using diagnostic equipment, technical information and manufacturer procedures.




- Document inspection findings and completed work clearly and accurately on repair orders.
- Communicate concerns and recommended repairs to the technician or service advisor before additional work proceeds.
- Follow shop safety procedures, use equipment properly and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Participate in training and maintain your apprenticeship records as you develop and demonstrate recent skills.

What you’ll bring

- Registration as an Automotive Service Technician apprentice, currently in your 2nd or 3rd year.
- Practical automotive maintenance experience and a developing understanding of vehicle systems.
- A willingness to learn, ask for help and apply feedback.
- Attention to detail, dependable attendance and respect for your teammates and customers’ vehicles.
- A valid driver’s licence appropriate for moving and road-testing customer vehicles.

Experience:
