Our client, a leading Oil & Gas Services organization in Calgary , is seeking a Collections Specialist for a long-term contract. This role will focus on accounts receivable, credit exposure, overdue payments and dispute resolution while maintaining positive customer relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of receivables and proactively follow up on overdue balances.
Monitor daily customer credit exposure, identify accounts exceeding approved limits, and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
Investigate billing issues, payment discrepancies and account disputes, coordinating resolutions as needed.
Contact customers by phone and email to request payment, issue reminders and arrange payment plans.
Apply account holds within assigned authority and follow established collection practices.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, payment commitments and collection activities.
Work with internal finance teams to confirm account status, support reconciliations and maintain accurate records.
Report on aging, collection performance and outstanding receivables, escalating high-risk accounts when necessary.
Support month-end and year-end reporting and adapt to changing systems, tools and processes.

Requirements:
3–5 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, credit or cash application.
Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field is an asset.
Experience with account reconciliations, discrepancy investigation and dispute resolution.
Solid knowledge of accounts receivable practices, financial terminology and collection procedures.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills,



with the ability to discuss overdue payments professionally.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems such as JDE EnterpriseOne.
Ability to manage high volumes of accounts, adapt to changing priorities and work independently or collaboratively.
Strong customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
