Job Description:

Security Professional – Event & Venue Security (Part-Time)

Location: Toronto, ON
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time

Position Overview

Empire Protection Inc. is currently seeking licensed Security Professionals to support event and venue security in Toronto.

This role is best suited for individuals who are calm under pressure, present themselves professionally, and understand how to operate in public-facing environments where customer service and enforcement must be balanced.

Preference will be given to these candidates.

Shift Information (Important)

- Weekdays (Mon–Thu): Approximately 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM
- Weekends (Fri–Sun): Approximately 5:00 PM to 1:00–3:00 AM
- Average shift length: 5–8 hours
- Must have OPEN availability on weekdays, weekends and holidays

Mandatory Requirements

- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Smart Serve Certification
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Professional attire: black suit and plain white dress shirt (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass a written, verbal, and physical assessment as a condition of employment

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 3-5 years experience in a high-pressure environment (event security preferred)
- Candidates building their career in Private Security and/or Law Enforcement will be given preference
- Professional appearance and strong personal conduct
- Clear verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong observation skills with accurate, detailed report writing
- Experience applying:
- Criminal Code of Canada
- Trespass to Property Act
- Powers of Arrest (Section 494)
- Demonstrated de-escalation and conflict management skills
- Comfortable working in a team workplace
- High School Diploma required (post-secondary education considered an asset)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Greeting and managing patron entry at venues
- Enforcing site rules, policies, and access control procedures




- Conducting ID checks, bag checks, wanding, and crowd control when required
- Working outdoors when necessary to manage entry flow
- Maintaining a visible, professional presence in public settings
- Responding to incidents using a de-escalation approach and mindset
- Documenting incidents, observations, and occurrences accurately
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Supporting health and safety procedures at all times
- Providing professional customer service while maintaining authority
- Other duties as assigned
