Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Truck Dispatcher to manage and coordinate our fleet across Canada-wide routes with some U.S. operations. The ideal candidate will have strong industry knowledge, proven dispatch experience, and the ability to handle load planning, fleet tracking, driver communication, and day-to-day operational coordination efficiently.

This role requires someone who understands the trucking industry, works well under pressure, and can maintain excellent communication with drivers, brokers, and customers.

Responsibilities

- Dispatch company trucks across Canada and select U.S. lanes
- Plan and assign loads efficiently to maximize utilization and profitability
- Communicate regularly with drivers regarding routes, schedules, delays, and issues
- Monitor fleet using GPS and fleet tracking systems
- Use dispatching and load board software to secure and manage freight

(Loadlink, DAT, Truckstop, or similar)

- Ensure compliance with hours of service (HOS), border requirements, and company policies
- Coordinate pickups, deliveries, and appointments
- Resolve operational issues such as breakdowns, delays, or load changes
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, load details, and driver reports




- Build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers and customers
- Provide professional customer service and timely updates

Requirements & Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of truck dispatch experience (Mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of Canada and USA trucking operations
- Familiarity with cross-border shipping procedures and documentation
- Proficient in dispatching software, load boards, and fleet tracking systems
- Excellent communication skills (phone, text, email)
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple trucks
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of industry rates, lanes, and operations is a strong asset
