The Chance

We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Estimator to join our estimating team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential construction estimation, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to analyze costs, manage budgets, and provide accurate pricing for our homebuilding projects. This role is critical in ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Cost Analysis

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for single-family, Duplex and Townhome residential projects.
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and trade quotes to determine accurate pricing.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Vendor & Trade Coordination

- Collaborate with Purchasing and suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Maintain and update a database of trade partners, materials, and labor costs.
- Assist in negotiating pricing agreements and contracts to ensure the best value for the company.

Budget & Pricing Management

- Assist Senior Estimator in preparing and maintaining project budgets.
- Work closely with the Sales and Design teams to ensure home pricing aligns with market trends.
- Support the development of standardized pricing for customizations and upgrades.

Process Improvement & Strategy





- Continuously refine estimation processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify industry trends and provide insights on potential cost impacts.
- Assist in evaluating new technologies, materials, and construction methods to optimize costs.

Collaboration & Leadership

- Work closely with Project Managers, Sales, and the Design team to ensure accurate cost forecasting.
- Participate in company strategy discussions to support growth and profitability goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of residential construction estimating experience.

Technical Skills:

- Strong proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Hyphen, BuildPro, BlueBeam Revu, HomeFront, or similar).
- Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and local Building Codes.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Soft Skills:

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and stakeholders.

Industry Knowledge:

- Understanding of residential homebuilding trends, market pricing, and value engineering.
- Experience working with suppliers and trade partners in a homebuilding environment.
