Agence Charlie is supporting a well established Canadian manufacturer of engineered industrial products in its search for a Human Resources Manager. Our client is growing quickly, values respect and strong relationships, and operates in a unionized environment built on trust and collaboration.

This is a pivotal role for an HR leader who wants to make a visible difference: you will strengthen HR practices across the organization while staying close to the people on the floor.

The role

Reporting directly to the President, you will be the organization’s HR lead and work closely with operations and executive teams. You will balance compliance, labour relations, people development and business needs, with the autonomy to shape how HR supports a growing operation.

What you will do

HR leadership

- Lead core HR functions: recruitment, training, performance management, discipline and benefits administration
- Build and improve HR processes and policies as the organization grows
- Prepare HR reporting and insights for leadership

Labour relations

- Act as the key contact for labour relations, including grievances, negotiations and collective agreement interpretation
- Build constructive, respectful relationships with the union and employees

Health, safety and wellbeing

- Manage WSIB claims and modified work programs
- Support Health and Safety initiatives in partnership with operations

People and communication

- Support managers and employees through explicit, consistent communication and a visible presence on the floor
- Maintain accurate,



compliant employee records

What you bring

- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge of Ontario employment law, collective agreements and HR best practices
- A fair, firm and empathetic approach, with strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
- The autonomy to manage multiple priorities and the energy to thrive in a fast paced, growing company
- A college diploma or university degree in HR, Industrial Relations or a related field; CHRP (or in progress) is an asset
- ERP experience is a plus
