Whitemud Ironworks Limited is a fully integrated steel fabricator and erector that specializes in structural and miscellaneous steel projects in the commercial sector. We are recognized as an industry leader for our quality and scope of work. Due to our reputation, we have grown substantially over the past 20+ years. Today, Whitemud has established construction crews and three fabrication facilities totaling over 100,000 square feet!

What you will do…

You are an expert in understanding detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel projects using Tekla 3D modelling and drafting. You take pride in ensuring that design drawings conform to specifications, design data, CISC standards and building codes. You have a keen eye for detail, which allows you to recognize and report any contract or design discrepancies while taking into account that drawings are created to maximize production output. Your effective communication skills allow you to provide clarifications and explanations to your team and other outside parties. You have a drive for continuous improvement, and you thrive in a high-volume, rapid-paced environment.

What you have done…

You have 7+ years’ experience in structural steel detailing using Tekla Structures. You have completed post-secondary education in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or another relevant field. If you have a National Institute of Steel Detailers (NISD) certification, it is considered an asset.



You are proficient in reading and interpreting structural and architectural design drawings, and are knowledgeable of building codes and CISC standards for structural steel. Your high levels of attention to detail allow you to perform tasks to the highest level of accuracy. You are self-motivated and can follow tasks through with minimal supervision. You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
