Hairstyling Educator | Part-Time or Full-Time

The Salon Professional Academy | Regina

Love doing hair? Imagine the impact of teaching someone else to love it and build a career doing it.

We are looking for skilled, encouraging hairstylists who are ready to share their experience, inspire confidence, and help shape the next generation of beauty professionals.

Whether you’re interested in teaching part-time alongside your salon career or stepping into education full-time, we’d love to hear from you.

What makes this prospect meaningful

Bring your creativity, real salon experience, and passion for the industry into a teaching environment where student growth is at the heart of your work. You’ll help students connect technical skills with the communication, professionalism, and guest care that build a successful career.

There’s something special about watching a student master a technique, believe in themselves, and realize what’s possible with your guidance.

What you will do

- Deliver engaging classroom lessons and hands-on demonstrations in cutting, colouring, styling, and finishing.
- Coach students as they move from mannequin practice to working with guests.
- Bring curriculum to life through practical examples, current techniques, and your industry experience.
- Give explicit, constructive feedback that builds confidence while maintaining professional standards.
- Evaluate technical skills, coursework, and practical assessments, and document student progress.
- Model safe work practices, exceptional guest care, teamwork,

and professionalism.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and challenged to grow.
- Help prepare students for examinations and the expectations of a salon career.

Who we’re looking for

You’re a hairstylist who loves the craft and enjoys helping others improve. You bring patience, positive energy, and the ability to explain both how to do something and why it matters.

Our ideal candidate has:

- Strong salon experience and technical skills in cutting, colouring, and styling.
- Applicable hairstyling credentials.
- Clear communication skills and a respectful, encouraging approach to feedback.
- Strong organization, reliability, and a commitment to student success.
- A willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow as an educator.
- Teaching, mentoring, or apprentice-training experience an asset but not required.

Your experience behind the chair matters. If you’ve enjoyed mentoring an apprentice, supporting a teammate, or helping someone master a technique, we encourage you to apply even if you haven’t held a formal educator role.

Ready to help someone build their future?

Apply with your résumé and a short introduction sharing your hairstyling experience, why education interests you, and whether you’re seeking part-time or full-time work.

Share your craft. Build their confidence. Shape our industry.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 35.0 per week

Work Location: In person
