We are looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to become our first technician as we restart operations in Parksville. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their workmanship, and wants to play an significant role in growing a local business.

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled 3rd or 4th Year Refrigeration Apprentice or Journeyman with a strong background in residential and light commercial HVAC service, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Installation work will also be part of the position as required.

The ideal candidate must be highly self-sufficient and confident working independently.

As our first Parksville-based technician, you will be working alone most days, diagnosing equipment failures, completing repairs, and managing your daily service calls with minimal supervision. You will have the support of our experienced Courtenay team when needed, but we require someone who can confidently troubleshoot equipment, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, including heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, and related systems.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Independently manage daily service calls from initial diagnosis through completion.
- Identify equipment failures, source required parts, and communicate repair recommendations.
- Provide professional customer service and clearly explain equipment issues and repair options.
- Complete accurate service reports and work orders using our service management software.




- Assist with residential and light commercial HVAC installations as required.
- Coordinate with our Courtenay office for scheduling, parts, and technical assistance.

Qualifications & Requirements

- 3rd or 4th Year Refrigeration Apprentice or certified Refrigeration Journeyman preferred.
- Strong experience in HVAC service, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Must be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related equipment failures.
- Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and accountability.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and organize daily service calls.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Gas fitting experience or certification considered an asset.
- Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Parksville area.
