About the opportunity

One World Staffing is seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Event Lead to coordinate onsite staff and support operations for an upcoming Candlelight concert in Nanaimo.

The event features live music in an atmospheric candlelit venue, including Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and a tribute to ABBA. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and be comfortable managing a team in a live-event setting.

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the onsite event staff.
- Organize setup and breakdown of candles, signage, seating areas, and other event materials.
- Brief staff on their responsibilities, dress code, and event procedures.
- Coordinate guest entry, ticket and QR-code scanning, seating, and guest flow.
- Provide support and direction to staff throughout the event.
- Communicate with the operations team about onsite updates or concerns.
- Resolve routine operational issues professionally and escalate when necessary.
- Ensure the venue is left clean and organized after the event.

Requirements

- Previous experience in event operations,



hospitality, customer service, or team leadership.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate a team and work under pressure.
- Professional, punctual, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable assisting with physical setup and breakdown.
- Available for the entire assigned shift.

Compensation and employment terms

- Pay: CA$22 per hour
- Freelance / Independent Contractor position.
- Payment follows the company's biweekly payroll schedule.

Dress code

All-black attire is required: a plain black shirt, black trousers or jeans without rips, and clean, closed-toe shoes.
