Our client, a leader in the mining industry, is seeking a highly skilled Manager of Technical Accounting to join their finance team in Toronto. This role involves managing complex accounting judgments, supporting external reporting, and contributing to internal controls as the company prepares for growth and new market opportunities in North America.What you will achieve in this role:Own and manage technical accounting positions for complex, judgmental transactions including royalty arrangements, asset retirement obligations, and inventory costingDevelop and align accounting policies and processes across sites in Canada, Peru, and MexicoResearch, document, and communicate accounting positions for transactions arising from M&A activity and other initiatives, preparing memos for reviewSupport quarterly and annual financial statement preparation and liaise with auditors on technical accounting mattersAssist with treasury support such as cash forecasting and gold sales settlement processesContribute to the company’s budgeting and forecasting cycleSupport SOX 404 readiness, including control design and documentation, particularly in technical accounting areasCollaborate on SAP system implementation, ensuring technical accounting requirements are reflected in system designParticipate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as neededWhat you will bring to this role:CPA designation is required5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience,
