HOME CHILD CAREGIVER

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide daily care and supervision for a child with autism and a disability.
Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, diaper changes, and daily living activities as needed.
Prepare meals and snacks and assist with feeding when necessary.
Maintain a protected, clean, and supportive workplace for the child.
Follow the child's daily schedule and established routines.
Support the child's communication, play, and developmental activities.
Assist the child with transitions between activities and provide patient, reassuring support.
Transport or accompany the child to and from school, as required.
Accompany the child to therapy sessions, medical appointments, and other scheduled activities.
Monitor the child's safety at home and in the community.
Communicate with the parents regarding the child's care, daily activities, and needs.




Perform other duties directly related to the child's care.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Previous experience caring for children is an asset.
Experience with autism or developmental disabilities are highly valued.
Ability to follow care instructions and maintain daily routines.
Patient, trustworthy, dependable, and attentive to safety.
Able to perform the duties required by the position.

JOB DETAILS
