Role: SAP Payroll Manager

Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid, 2 days in office)

Salary: $132K to $151K

Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations across Canada. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for payroll accuracy, compliance, team development, and continuous process improvement.

Overview:
Lead end-to-end payroll processing for Canadian employees
Support U.S. payroll activities as needed
Drive payroll process improvements, controls, and efficiencies
Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements
Oversee payroll accounting procedures and internal controls
Act as the escalation point for complex payroll inquiries
Manage year-end payroll activities including T4s, T4As, RL-1s, reconciliations, and reporting
Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team
Oversee CNESST claims and related financial activities
Administer executive benefit programs including RRSP, HSA, insurance, and other plans

What We're Looking For:
CPM designation (or equivalent)
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, HR, or a related field
10+ years of progressive Canadian payroll experience
5+ years of payroll leadership experience




Experience supporting payroll for 500+ employees
Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, tax, and compliance requirements
Experience with payroll implementations or system upgrades is an asset
U.S. payroll experience is an asset
Strong systems aptitude, analytical skills, and attention to detail
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Bilingual (English/French) preferred
Experience with SAP SuccessFactors ECP or similar enterprise payroll systems is an asset
