Staff Accountant

SJ Chartered Professional Accountants - Mississauga, ON

Looking for CPA or graduate enrolled in CPA, to join our team as full-time Staff Accountant. Candidates must take pride in their work, have a customer-focused attitude and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Complete working papers and financial statements for NTRs and Review Engagements for small business clients
Audit and Review engagement experience
Prepare personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax returns and ensure compliance with CRA
Tax planning, HST preparation and reviewing/reconciling books
Communication with clients – troubleshooting, responding to questions, concerns and requests

Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of CaseWare and Profile or Taxprep
Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks (both desktop and online)




Proven financial accounting skills and problem solving required including: tax returns, NTRs, Review Engagements, Audit Engageemnts, account reconciliations, bookkeeping, HST, payroll, WSIB, etc.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
Ability to multi-task many priorities and meet deadlines
Self-starter, eager to learn, can-do attitude

Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements

Education and Experience:
Accounting Graduate, CPA designation, or be enrolled in the CPA program
Accounting/Audit experience with CPA firm
