Laboratory Technician position for our R&D; and quality team. You'll work directly with our Technical Supervisor, a PhD chemist with over 40 years of experience in the field. It's a chance to build your polymer and polyurethane skills under expert mentorship while making a real contribution to product development and quality.
Prepare and test polyurethane and polymer formulations (prepolymers, adhesives, sealants, coatings) to set procedures
Run routine QC and R&D; tests: viscosity, NCO content (titration), hydroxyl value, moisture (Karl Fischer), pot life and gel time, cure profile, hardness, tensile/elongation, and lap shear/peel adhesion
Help the Technical Supervisor with formulation development, troubleshooting, and scale-up from lab to production
Record data accurately, keep lab notebooks up to date, and write clear test reports
Do QC on incoming raw materials (polyols, isocyanates, additives) and on finished goods
Calibrate and maintain lab equipment
Handle isocyanates and other chemicals safely, following WHMIS and company safety procedures
Keep the lab clean, organized,



and stocked.

Looking for
College diploma or university degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Technology, Polymer Science, or a related field
2–3 years of hands-on lab experience with polymers, ideally polyurethanes (adhesives, sealants, coatings, foams, or elastomers)
Working knowledge of polyurethane chemistry: isocyanate/polyol reactions, NCO:OH ratios, catalysts, and the effect of moisture
Experience with standard test methods (ASTM/ISO) and common lab instruments (viscometer, titrator, Karl Fischer, durometer, universal testing machine)
Solid attention to detail and good record-keeping
Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and Word
Eager to learn, and able to work on your own and closely with a senior scientist

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7.5 per week
