Job Summary

We are seeking an Entry-Level Legal Clerk to support our team of paralegals and legal professionals in daily operations, with a focus on Provincial Offences Act (POA), Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB), and Small Claims Court (SCC) matters. This role centers on administrative support, client intake, file organization, and routine court/tribunal filings in a fast-paced legal workplace.

Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Client Intake: Manage multi-line phone systems, handle initial client inquiries, greet visitors, gather intake information, and deliver exceptional client service.
POA Support: Assist with filing court documents, tracking appearance dates, requesting officer disclosure from prosecutors, and sending status updates to clients.
LTB Support: Help prepare basic statutory forms (e.g., N4, N12), organize hearing evidence packages (receipts, photos, correspondence), and submit applications via the Tribunals Ontario Portal.
Administrative & Clerical Tasks: Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems, perform accurate data entry,



process invoices/payments, and handle scanning, photocopying, and mail distribution.
Calendar & Deadline Management: Coordinate team schedules, book appointments, and track critical court, tribunal, and limitation deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills
Education: High School Diploma or Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma.
Software Proficiency: Robust skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
Industry Knowledge: Basic familiarity with POA, LTB, and Small Claims Court processes, or a strong desire to learn; prior law or paralegal firm experience is a solid asset.
Core Competencies: Excellent phone etiquette, sharp attention to detail (proofreading and record-keeping), strong multi-tasking skills, and reliable data entry speed and accuracy.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
