Matrix HR is recruiting experienced Industrial Painters for potential opportunities supporting shipbuilding operations in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
We are seeking candidates with hands-on experience in industrial surface preparation, abrasive blasting, protective coatings and industrial spray applications.
Previous shipyard, marine, fabrication, heavy-equipment or industrial maintenance experience is considered a solid asset.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare metal surfaces using grinders, sanders, hand tools and abrasive blasting equipment.
Apply industrial primers, epoxy coatings and protective finishes using appropriate application methods.
Perform surface preparation to meet specified coating requirements.
Follow established safety procedures while working in industrial and potentially confined environments.
Maintain equipment and comply with project quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
Minimum one year of relevant industrial painting experience.
Experience with industrial coatings and surface preparation.
Ability to work safely in a physically demanding industrial environment.
Eligibility to work in Canada.
Ability to satisfy applicable security screening and site-access requirements.
Relevant Fall Protection, Confined Space and WHMIS certifications are assets. Specific certification requirements will be confirmed before deployment.
