Job Description: The CAD Designer’s role will be to work with other designers and Engineers in the execution and management of engineering projects. Required tasks include:
Preparation of structural and architectural drawings using AutoCAD including plans, sections, elevations, details, etc.
Conducting code reviews using the applicable building code, zoning by-laws, and other agency regulations during the preparation of drawings.
Preparing complete packages for building permit submission including all required application forms, energy efficiency documents, building code matrices, etc.
Assisting in the management and coordination of building permits, including revising drawings per city comments, client requests, and revisions required by engineering staff.




Providing administrative assistance to engineering staff, including communicating with clients & subconsultants, assisting in the preparation of technical reports, and managing project documentation.

Job Requirements:
Completion of an accredited Architectural, Civil, or Structural Technology program.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Solid communication skills to work effectively with co‐workers, clients, and municipal contacts.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.
Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and CSA standards.
Excellent work habits, including attention to detail, self-discipline, organization, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, alongside a foundational understanding of typical building systems and components.
Practical construction or field experience is considered a strong asset.

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
