Little Bear Early Learning Center (ELC) is a dedicated non-profit organization in Saskatoon, committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care for children aged 6 months to 5 years. Our mission is to foster a nurturing and enriching environment for our little learners, and we’re seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our team!

Position Overview:

We are looking for a temporary, dependable and enthusiastic Cook to prepare nutritious and delicious meals and snacks for 60 children daily. The ideal candidate will independently curate a menu and grocery lists, ensuring all meals meet dietary requirements of the Canadian Food Guide and safety standards. This role is crucial in supporting the well-being and development of the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to the schedule.
Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a protected, hygienic, and appealing manner.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to food safety protocols.
Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
Collaborate with the Early Learning Center team to accommodate any special dietary needs or allergies.
Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and WHMIS standards.
Participate in ongoing training and development as required.




Research current recipes for menu development.

Qualifications:
Valid Food Safety certification.
WHMIS certification.
Experience in cooking for large groups, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
Robust organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately.
Friendly and approachable attitude, with a passion for working with children.
Asset: Proficiency in Michif or Cree languages, ECE training
