Position SummaryReporting to the Western Regional Manager, the Ramp Attendant/Groomer is responsible for the safe movement of baggage and cargo to and from the aircraft as well as for the general maintenance of the hangar and office facilities. They may also be responsible to ensure that the aircraft inside and outside is clean and presentable for the customers' next flight.Personal CharacteristicsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a agile environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesSort, load and unload baggage, freight and equipmentProvide courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, airfreight (continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage and freight)Marshall aircraft, drive and fuel equipment, de-ice aircraft, install and uninstall aircraft seats and equipment, service aircraft lavatories, ensure that airside areas are organized and cleanGeneral cleaning of Company facilities and equipment as required by each base, including interim vacuuming of aircraft as requiredGeneral pick-up and delivery duties in the company vehicle may be requiredClean aircraft by performing the following functions:Vacuum aircraft, change seat cushion covers and carpets, wash windows, test air vents and reading lights and report malfunctions to Maintenance deptEnsure that supplies are in back seat pockets,



inspect seats for proper operationsWash and polish outside of aircraft depending on local environment and weatherClean the cockpit area including pilot's windowsReport all aircraft irregularities to the Maintenance dept.Secure aircraft at end of each load/unload or shift ensuring that all doors and access points are closed and secure. Be vigilant against any unusual activities and suspicious persons and report any and all suspicious activity to the Airport manager's officeMaintain a secure and healthy work environment by consistently following all rules, regulations and prescribed work methods and, where necessary, report all unsafe or unhealthy conditions to a Supervisor or Health and Safety Committee RepresentativeActively participate in the Company's Safety Management SystemPerform additional duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsMust possess a valid driver's licenceMust possess a valid forklift licence or have completed applicable trainingPrevious warehouse/ramp experience considered an assetPrevious aviation operation experience considered an assetIndigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetWorking ConditionsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleWork in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling dailyWork performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditionsMethods and procedures described or implied in the job profile may be altered to accommodate employees.
